Phillip Island Grand Prix Track

Located in Cowes, Phillip Island, the Phillip Island Grand Prix Track attracts thousands of visitors from across Australia and the world. Most visitors come to witness and be part of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, V8 Supercar Championship, Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship and Shannon’s Nationals which are held annually on the track. Many visitors do not realise the Phillip Island Grand Prix Track has many other activities to offer families and businesses throughout the year.


The Thrilling Go Kart Track

The Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit has a go kart track, which is located at the southern side of the Circuit. This track is open throughout the year, other than during the Moto GP and Superbike World Championship when it functions as a campground. The go kart track is 720 metres long and it is a scale replica of the Circuit. In some places the track is more than 8 metres wide.

It overlooks the coastline and offers mesmerising views, but most people do not notice them as they are busy driving their Swiss Hutless karts! The track is thrilling with its smooth curves and extremely fast straight which offer a go karting experience like never before.


Adrenaline-Pumping Hot Laps

Imagine being able to ride the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit? Wouldn’t it be thrilling and scintillating? That is exactly what happens with the Hot Laps. Visitors get a chance to sit next to an experienced racing driver in a race-prepared vehicle to enjoy the speed and thrill of the Circuit.

The cost of this experience is $330 and the opening hours are subject to Circuit hire and the season.


Guided Tour of the Circuit

When you come to witness the MotoGP or Superbike Championship, you will not have access to certain areas along the track. With a guided tour, you can access these areas, including the Race Control where it can be thrilling to see the race on a CCTV system, Control Tower, Pit Roof, Pit Lane and Media Centre.

The tour is operational every day at 2 pm and is a walking tour. It takes about an hour to complete.

The cost of the Guided Tour is as follows:

Adults: $19
Pensioner: $15
Children from 5 to 15 years: $10
Family consisting of 2 adults and 2 children: $44


Push Bike Rides


There is nothing like riding your bicycle amidst the panoramic location of the Phillip Island Grand Prix Track. Rest assured you will not be interrupting lap times! All you need is your bicycle and protective headgear to enjoy a 2-hour riding session around the Circuit.

This relaxing and exhilarating experience requires prior booking at the Visitor Centre. Tickets have to be purchased before 10.30 am and cost $20 for adults and $10 for children aged 5 to 15 years.

With so many activities on offer, the Phillip Island Grand Prix Track is much more than a venue to host popular racing competitions. Make it a point to visit the Track to enjoy all that it has to offer to truly appreciate this beautiful and thrilling circuit.
